Celebrity Liz Hurley paid a special visit to German trade show Ambiente today (Monday, February 13).
After touring the exhibition, the actress, model and businesswoman commented: “The range at Ambiente is amazing. I love power shopping… but so many different styles, shapes and structures – wow! Now I know what a trend factory looks like from inside.”
She was particularly interested in the golden dinner service and artistic vases made by the Meissen porcelain manufactory, and spotted matching cutlery in solid sterling silver on the stand of UK housewares company Arthur Price. Products by Waterford Wedgwood, Portmeirion, Khala and Rösle also caught her eye.
Lisa was impressed by the show’s UK Partner Country presentation too. The UK is the 2017 ‘partner country’ of the five-day event, which runs in Frankfurt Messe until tomorrow (Tuesday February 14).
The fact that Ambiente 2017 is so dominated by Union Jack flags is thanks to the work of Scottish designer Janice Kirkpatrick who, under theme of ‘Providence & Provenance’ is spotlighting the outstanding design expertise of the UK in an elaborate special exhibition.
Ambiente bills itself as the world’s leading international fair for products for the table, kitchen and household, gift articles, jewellery and fashion requisites, as well as decorative products, interior design concepts and furnishing accessories.
Last year some 4,400 exhibitors showed their wares to 137,000 trade visitors from almost 150 countries.
