‘Lively buzz’ at Top Drawer

London trade exhibition Top Drawer opened the spring trade show season with ‘a lively buzz’ according to organiser Clarion Events.

Held from January 13 to January 15 at Olympia, Top Drawer boasted ‘the strongest edit of brands to date [over 1,500] and the highest calibre of buyers’.

Amongst those attending were representatives from Liberty, Fenwick, Selfridges, Harrods, John Lewis, WestWing Now, Le Bon Marché, Tribe Dubai and Bergdorf Goodman.

Buyers travelled to the show from across the UK and Europe and as far afield as Japan, Saudi Arabia, Korea, UAE, New Zealand and Australia.

Jayne Hacking from Lancashire-based home and gift store Bolthole Gifts commented: “The variety of brands was exceptional this year, from first-time craft makers with a few specialty pieces to huge exhibitors like Coach House and Nkuku offering such a width and depth of products with amazing styling displays. It was a pleasure – and I spent more money at this show than I have at any previous show.”

Due to Top Drawer’s scale – 11 curated sectors including Home, Gift, Fashion, Greetings & Stationery, Play, Spotted, Food Emporium and Wellbeing -spread across the entirety of Olympia – and mix of brands across the lifestyle spectrum, Top Drawer attracted a diversity of retailers, from concept stores, museums shops, boutiques and independents to multiple retailers, garden centres and supermarkets.

TABLE [the luxury tableware presentation for the global hospitality industry] in its new prime location and complemented by the new Hospitality Trail, also contributed to an increase in hospitality professionals, contract buyers and interior designers.

The next edition of Top Drawer will take place at Olympia London from September 8 to September 10. Buyers can register for their complimentary passes at www.topdrawer.co.uk
