Garden sundries specialist Tenax – which holds the rights to the Laura Ashley brand in the garden sector – is the latest big name to sign up as a sponsor of the 2008 Britain’s Best Retailer Awards.
Laura Ashley and Tenax are sponsoring the award for Britain’s Best Garden Retailer – a category which has in the past been won by such blue-chip names as Bents Garden & Home, Poplars GC and Sanders Garden World.
“We consider the garden centres to be of ever-increasing importance to our business, especially with the Laura Ashley brand on board,” said Tenax sales and marketing director Richard Bence. “We would like to be seen to be putting something back into the market – and sponsoring the award for Britain’s Best Garden Retailer is a way of doing that.”
The full sponsor list now includes many of the market’s top brands: Amefa, Creative Tops, Cuprinol, Decco with Fair & Square, Dulux, Hammerite, Harrison Drape, Irwin Industrial Tools, Jura, Polycell, Stax Trade Centres, Sterling, Sunflex, Swish, Tenax with Laura Ashley and Wade Ceramics.
The winners will be revealed at the 2008 Britain’s Best Retailer Awards dinner at the Deansgate Hilton in Manchester on Tuesday November 18. The evening will be hosted by award-winning comedian Rhod Gilbert – a man described by Time Out magazine as “wondrously surreal, and destined to illuminate the night sky of comedy way into the distant future”.
The dinner is a superb opportunity to entertain key customers and to reward key staff. A table for 10 costs £1,395, including a bucks fizz reception, three-course dinner and wine. Individual places are £145 each. To book, please call Elanor Sayers on 020 8651 7158.
