Lakeland trio attempts non-stop baking world record soon

Lakeland is organising a 30-hour non-stop baking world record attempt at its flagship Windermere store in Cumbria on Friday November 9 and Saturday November 10.

Three staff members – Stella Wilson, Zoey Haliwell and Jane Nicholson – will start baking at 11am on November 9 and will continue until 5pm on November 10 (that’s 30 hours for each colleague).

The store and café will be open continuously throughout.

A representative from the Guinness World Records will attend the finale. If successful, framed certificates will be presented to the trio immediately after the event.

On November 9, the store is organising a free drive-in cinema on site showing Hollywood blockbusters ‘The Greatest Showman’ and ‘Grease’ at 6pm and 9pm respectively. Places are limited, so booking is required with a £20 refundable deposit.

A £10 snack deal will be available from the store’s first floor café: participants can choose from either a burger, hotdog or nachos followed by ice cream or popcorn, plus a drink.

All proceeds from the event are going to The Royal British Legion charity, which provides financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants.
