Lakeland reveals must-haves for August

Housewares chain Lakeland has revealed customer ambassador Wendy Miranda’s top 11 product recommendations for August.

Wendy said: “From preserving the season and easy-to-achieve baking projects to ideas to save time on food prep, we have plenty to inspire you this autumn. Here are my must-haves for August:

Ball freshTECH Jam and Jelly Maker (offer price £99.99): Ball’s dedicated machine does all the hard work for you, making fresh, home-made jam, jelly or chutney in as little as 21 minutes, and not a muslin cloth in sight. It automatically controls temperature and stirs ingredients and the non-stick cooking pot is dishwasher-safe. A recipe booklet is included.

Zenker Glass Fibre Silicone Bakeware (£9.99 each): Each piece is made from a unique glass fibre micro-perforated web material that’s then coated with silicone: the combination results in faster, more even baking and crispier cuts.

Lékué Microwave Grill (£34.99): Easy to store and a doddle to clean, this will have you enjoying perfectly cooked toasties in minutes – even creating authentic griddlelines.

Apple Master Peeler and Corer (£15.99): Apple Master peels, cores and slices an apple in seconds, taking all of the effort out of the task. Perhaps the best gadget ever for someone with an orchard or allotment, it’s brilliant for pears and potatoes too.

Lakeland Pro Chip & Dice Vegetable Chopper and Dicer (£34.99): Yes, it cuts perfectly uniform chips ready for crisp, even cooking in the oven or in our Air Fryer, but it also dices and slices all kinds of veg for soups, salads, curries and stews – it will even dice apples ready for home-made apple crumble!

SodaStream Spirit Sparkling Water Maker with Gas Cylinder Megapack (offer price £87.99): Putting fizz at your fingertips, SodaStream lets you make sparkling water and flavoured drinks at home, cutting down on plastic bottle use.

Mad Millie Organic Kombucha SCOBY Starter Culture (£14.99): It’s not pretty but a SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast) is the key ingredient that kick-starts the fermentation process which turns sweet tea into delicious kombucha.

Russbe Reusable Freezer Bags – pack of 8 (£12.99): If you’re concerned about all the use-once and throw-away plastic food bags you get through, but they’re just too handy to stop using completely, try these eco-friendly alternatives.

Joie Fresh Stretch Silicone Pods (from £3.49 each): Available in four sizes, these stretch-to-fit silicone tops keep flavour inside – and are freezer- and dishwasher-safe.

Lakeland Digital Slow Cooker 6.5L (£59.99): It comes with an aluminium cooking pot which can be used on the hob (even induction) and can also go in your oven, just like a casserole dish (with its glass lid).

Salter Loud Electronic Timer (£14.99): This extra-loud kitchen timer with three ringing volumes counts up or down to almost 20 hours. Easy to read and easy to use, it is magnetic or free-standing.”
