Kitchens Cookshop celebrates what’s in season this February

From marmalade-making and Chinese New Year, to Shrove Tuesday and Valentine’s Day, Kitchens Cookshop is celebrating February with a host of seasonal offers.

The south-west specialist chain said: ‘There’s more to February than you might think. For a start, Seville oranges are in season; they’re the best oranges for marmalade – so now’s the time for making marmalade – give it a go, it’s a whole lot easier than you might think and so rewarding too.

“It’s Chinese New Year from February 8, Pancake Day on February 9 and Valentine’s Day on February 14 with all things heart-shaped. All this and there are offers too!

For marmalade-making, Kitchens Cookshop suggests a large preserving or maslin pan, muslin, string and some jars and labels.

Chinese New Year items listed by the retailer include woks and stir frys (including a Ken Hom Everyday Non Stick wok at £11.95), a rack, bamboo steamer, chopsticks, themed tableware and Chinese cookbooks.

Pancake-making kit suggestions include a large mixing bowl, an electric or manual whisk, a frying pan or crepe pan and a spatula or turner.

The list of Valentine’s Day recommendations includes a heart-shaped silicone mould for making chocolates (or ice cubes), heart-shaped cutters, heart-shaped cake moulds and a heart-shaped casserole – plus a mat or coaster with a bright red heart, or a heart-shaped chalkboard.

Kitchens Cookshop operates three branches, in Bath, Bristol and Cardiff.
