Kitchen Craft baking stone ‘will fly on Monday’

Kitchen Craft’s cast iron black steel baking stone is going to experience a major sales boost on Monday, November 26.

Kitchen Craft baking stone 'will fly on Monday'

That is the prediction of UK online homewares retailer www.wayfair.co.uk, which believes the baking stone will be one of its five top-selling products on what is known as Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday is a worldwide online retail phenomenon – the web’s biggest shopping day of the year. Wayfair.co.uk experienced its biggest-ever sales peak on Cyber Monday last year – November 28 at 4.30pm.

This year it falls globally next Monday, and wayfair.co.uk expects peak shopping time on the site to be again between 4 and 5pm, with a fairly equal consumer gender split – 52% females and 48% males – buying items for the home.

With Christmas being the big time for entertaining friends and hosting family get-togethers, wayfair.co.uk is anticipating high demand for the second year running for its ambience lighting products, with the addition of space-saving furniture and baking equipment.

It is tipping this year’s top five products to be the Home Essence Mother and Child floor lamp and Astro Lighting Amalfi wall light, Home Essence Boston Stowaway four-stool dining set and Stanley Butterfly four-chair dining set, and Kitchen Craft’s baking stone.

The stone offers a traditional way of cooking bread-based foods, scones and biscuits, the cast iron construction absorbing moisture to create a perfect base and reduce hot spots. Wayfair.co.uk is offering the product with a 58% discount – down from £35.99 to £14.99.

Said wayfair.co.uk UK managing director Joel Stevenson: “We’ve seen a growing demand in baking products throughout the year, with the cast iron baking stone being one of the most popular items of 2012.”
