Housewares Business-to-business magazine for housewares retailers and their suppliers
Housewares supplier Joseph Joseph’s Totem recycling bin is the winner of the prestigious Grand Prix 2015 award, given by French magazine ‘Table & Cadeau’ at this year’s Paris trade show Maison & Objet.
Totem is part of Joseph Joseph’s Intelligent Waste range. Designed as a flexible waste separation unit, it is claimed to occupy the same space as a conventional kitchen bin but offer ‘many more functions without compromising on capacity’.
The news was announced at an awards ceremony held on September 4 in Hall 5 of Maison & Objet. This year, 46 products competed in seven categories: small appliances, glassware, bar & wine tasting, tableware, cooking, kitchen accessories, cutlery & decorative items. A jury of nine buyers, specialising in tableware, kitchenware and decoration, assessed entries across four criteria: design, innovation, technical expertise and quality/price ratio.
The winners are: Cook: the heating multifunctional robot expert by Magimix (small appliances), whisky tasting set by Peugeot (glassware, bar & wine tasting); the Zoucoup coffee cup by Pillivuyt (tableware); roaster oven dish by Cristel (cooking), Totem by Joseph Joseph (kitchen accessories), the Flat Cut kitchen knife by Claude Dozorme (cutlery), and the Linda Watt & Veke lamp distributed by Scandinavian Shop (decorative items).
The product that received the highest overall score won the Grand Prix Table & Cadeau. The judges also awarded a Special Jury Prize to the Delicha automatic teapot by Dalla Piazza, distributed by Sabatier.
