John Lewis offers ‘home refresher’ courses at Easter

Department store group John Lewis is hosting complimentary ‘masterclasses’ on ‘how to refresh your home for under £50’ in 46 of its shops over the Easter weekend.

The masterclasses will run on Good Friday (April 14), Saturday (April 15) and Easter Monday (April 17). Hosted by the retailer’s home design stylists, the sessions aim to offer ‘quick, easy and affordable hints for customers to give their homes a new lease of life in time for the arrival of Easter’.

Katie Papakonstantinou, head of product services at John Lewis, said: “Whether relaxing at home or hosting the entire family, the Easter weekend is a popular time for DIY and home improvements.

“We often find that customers are looking for quick wins around this time year. So we hope that these masterclasses will help customers to inject a bit of interest into their homes without taking too much time or investment.”

In addition, John Lewis’ flagship Oxford Street branch will be hosting a further series of masterclasses in association with some homeware brands, including lessons in upholstery with Parker Knoll, and wallpapering classes by Scion, between March 30 and April 16.

For customers that feel inspired by these masterclasses but want a more detailed rework of their interior scheme, all shops will be offering complimentary one-on-one style appointments at the Home Design Studio, as well as the opportunity to book a bespoke design consultation.

As part of a consultation session, a specialist home design stylist will visit the customer’s home for a two hour appointment to understand requirements and create a complete design scheme for multiple rooms. The fee of £250 is redeemable when over £1,500 is spent through the service.
