John Lewis reported a 6.7% rise in sales in the week to June 29, after a strong performance in its Summer Clearance helped to boost Home department sales.
The department store group revealed that sales broke through £80 million to £80.74m in the seven day period.
Home department sales increased 2.3%, powered by Outdoor Furniture, Cookshop and Beds and Home Collections.
Ed Connolly, buying director for electricals and home technology at John Lewis, said: “Online, johnlewis.com had a strong week, up 20.2% versus last year, and this was complemented by growth in shops, too.”
He added: “This week sees further markdowns and a third burst of Clearance marketing.”
