JML website offers live chat and new brands

Home shopping retailer and supplier JML has marked the relaunch of its website by, for the first time in its 24-year history, offering non-JML brands.

JMLdirect.com now includes lines such as laundry products from Addis and gadgets from the Eden Project, and initial reaction has persuaded the company to look at deals with other brands.

According to marketing manager Laura Fallace: “We’ve had encouragement from customers saying they’re delighted they can now buy additional third party branded products online from us.”

The website also now incorporates explanatory widescreen video footage of over 200 products, averaging one minute in length. JML says no other shopping website in the UK offers such a facility. The brand’s in-house team was responsible for producing and streaming the films, many of which are shot in high definition.

The website has also introduced a live chat service, so that if customers need to find out about more about a product or have order queries they can instantly chat online to one of JML’s 30 sales advisers based at its fulfilment centre.

In addition, the site provides a social media portal through which people can connect with JML, allowing them to follow on Facebook and Twitter.

“In addition to the e-commerce function we want JMLdirect.com to be used as a valuable source of information underpinning our multi-channel sales activities,” said Fallace.
