JML, Ideal World and Firebox.com bosses star in new TV series

A new TV show featuring three key housewares retailers made its debut today (Monday April 16) on Channel 4.

Presented by actor, singer, presenter and comedian Brian Conley, ‘Buy It Now’ is a series airing from Monday to Friday at 5.30pm for the next six weeks.

In each 30-minute show, inventors of products – including housewares – are given the chance to pitch their new wares to an audience of potential shoppers and a panel of major retailers. Each inventor has only 90 seconds to get their interest – and retain it when the product’s price is revealed.

Channel 4 commissioning editor Tim Hancock said, “’Buy It Now takes the business pitch show and spikes it with glossy entertainment values.”

In today’s episode, JML ceo Ken Daly, Ideal World managing director Fran Busby and Firebox.com managing director Kristian Bromley judged the Doddl children’s cutlery set, Pet Angel detanglng brush for pets and Mobu cable-tidy clip.

In tomorrow’s episode (Tuesday April 17), the products in the spotlight are the EasichefKnife, Fixeeze and the Bootclaw. The broadcaster said: ‘Friends Amit, Ghazi and Imtyaz demonstrate their invention to remove breakfast-time stress; Daniel shows a solution to DIY disasters; and mum Cary has a product inspired by watching her boys play rugby.’
