Janet Street-Porter to speak at Home & Gift

The has announced that media personality, journalist and broadcaster Janet Street-Porter CBE will be this year’s keynote speaker.

She will take to the stage on Monday July 17 at 11am as part of The Great Northern Retail Forum, which runs alongside the trade show.

Janet will discuss why supporting ‘Made in Britain’ products – from food and craft to design – is important in a post-Brexit country.

Show director Cleere Scamell said: “This promises to be a fascinating, passionate and lively session and we are thrilled that Janet is joining us.

“The Forum is a huge part of the show every year and we think it will be even more popular than usual thanks to Janet’s presence.”

The Great Northern Forum is held in Hall H, upstairs in the HIC (Harrogate International Centre).

Janet writes for ‘The Daily Mail’ and ‘Evening Standard’ and is a regular panellist on ITV chat show ‘Loose Women’. She has appeared on BBC1 current affairs show ‘Question Time’ and comedy quiz ‘Have I Got News for You’. She is also a ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ 2013 finalist.

Organised by Clarion Events, the Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival will be held from Sunday July 16 to Tuesday July 19 at Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

At the exhibition, more than 1,000 suppliers will showcase their wares across four sectors: giftware, jewellery, home interiors and greetings.

A record 25% of the stands are being used by new companies, including Alessi, Grand Illusions, Pignut, Sunnylife, Ginger Ray, Nkuku, Giftisimo, Tif Tiffy Denmark and High Tide Jewellery.
