Jamie Oliver jumps straight to number one spot in bestsellers book list

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s new cookbook has soared to the top of the UK bestsellers list.

‘Super Food Family Classics’, which was published on July 14, is already number one in ‘The Mail on Sunday’ weekly list of the UK’s best-selling non-fiction hardback titles.

Following on from Jamie’s best-selling ‘Everyday Super Food’, the recipes are also healthy and nutritious. Throughout the book, Jamie shares his ideas for freshening up family favourites. Chapters include Breakfast,  Quick Fixes, Healthy Classics, Salads, Curries & Stews, Traybakes, Pasta & Risotto and Soups.

Every recipe is tried and tested and nutritional information is included on the page, such as the number of veg and fruit portions in each dish. There is also a back-section packed with advice on subjects such as cooking with kids, fussy eaters, gut health, the importance of fibre and budgeting.

‘Tanya Bakes’, the debut cookbook by beauty, fashion and lifestyle vlogger Tanya Burr, is at number two in the chart. Within it she shares her passion for baking, along with her favourite recipes, from everyday staple bakes to sweet treats for special occasions.

At number three is ‘Cook Happy, Cook Healthy’ by TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton. Her debut cookbook is billed as ‘full of easy, fast and healthy recipes for everything from breakfast and speedy suppers to baked treats’.

For non-fiction paperbooks, fitness guru Joe Wicks (aka The Body Coach) leads the way, taking the top two spots.

At number one is ‘Lean in 15 – The Shape Plan: 15 minute meals with workouts to build a strong, lean body’ which introduces a new way of eating and training to build lean muscle and burn more fat. In the book, Joe shares 100 recipes and four new workouts.

At number two is ‘Lean In 15’, which features 100 recipes and guides the reader through Joe’s home workouts.

In tenth place in the non-fiction paperback league is ‘The Hairy Dieters: Fast Food’ by celebrity cookery duo Si King and Dave Myers, which contains low-calorie recipes designed to be made in under 30 minutes.

These lists appeared in ‘The Mail on Sunday’s’ ‘Event’ magazine on July 24. The book charts are compiled by Nielsen Bookscan TCM, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 retailers, representing over 90% of the UK book market.
