ITV recommissions ‘Save Money: Good Food’

The primetime ITV show ‘Save Money: Good Food’ returns to our screens this Autumn.

The eight-part series, which made its primetime debut in the Spring, aims to offer viewers a guide to ‘smart and savvy’ household spending.

Fronted by chef Matt Tebbutt and journalist Susanna Reid, the second series is in production with a further seven half-hour programmes due for transmission in the Autumn.

The broadcaster said: ‘With research indicating most families don’t keep track of the true cost of their weekly shop, each episode aims to guide viewers on how to make their food, and therefore their money, go further.

‘Susanna and Matt will offer tips on how to be a smarter spender without compromising on quality or taste and prepare, quick and simple meals every day of the week – at super low prices.

Viewers will see the presenters spend time with a different family each week, raiding their kitchens and even going through their bins to identify how they might be able to help them out. Matt will show how savings can be made with some cooking and storing tips such as using leftovers, while Susanna will investigate the latest food consumer stories.

Plus the super cheap taste test returns: which products will come out on top in the battle of the super cheap supermarkets and can the winner overthrow the market leader on taste and value?
