ITV recommissions ‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’

Following a successful launch, ITV has recommissioned daytime cookery series ‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’.

The second series starts from Sunday June 9 at 9:25am on ITV and each programme has been extended to two hours from its original duration of 60 minutes.

The broadcaster said: ‘The show sees couple John Torode and Lisa Faulkner host Sunday mornings from their cosy kitchen, as if they were cooking in their own home. Whether viewers are in need of inspiration and guidance with what to cook for breakfast, Sunday lunch, next week’s dinner, snacks, cocktails and everything in between, John and Lisa have it covered – mirroring what viewers have in their cupboards at home.

‘The brand new series will see John and Lisa welcome guests from the world of food to their kitchen. Whether they are professional chefs like John or talented home cooks like Lisa, they all have one thing in common: a passion and flair for cooking.’

John commented: “We’re thrilled that viewers have welcomed us into their homes on Sunday mornings and look forward to being joined by some fantastic foodie guests in the forthcoming new series.”

Lisa added: “It’s a dream come true for us to present our very own cooking series together, especially as we now get to invite some of our friends and favourite food personalities into our kitchen too.”

ITV heads of daytime Jane Beacon and Clare Ely said: “Re-ordering this show was an easy decision for us. Viewers are enjoying our food-themed programming on Sunday mornings and ‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’ feels a perfect fit to the schedule.”
