International award for Joseph Joseph colander

The awards, organised in Germany, rank among the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world. The contest presents accolades in three categories, design concept, communication design and product design, with the Joseph Joseph product winning in the latter.

This year the organisers received over 3,200 submissions from 51 countries, with the international judging panel evaluating entries on degree of innovation, functionality and quality.

Joseph Joseph’s space-saving folding colander is one of the company’s newest additions to its innovative kitchen accessories collection. The patented product folds completely flat for easy storage, using 12 live hinges to achieve its transformation, and in the lock position food is safely contained.

It is made from recyclable polypropylene and comes in white, black, pink, green and light blue. Retail price is £14, and the product is already being stocked by John Lewis, Selfridges, House of Fraser and Fenwick.
