Independent retailers help T&G Woodware make a wave of change

Several independent retailers from around the country have been helping housewares supplier T&G Woodware make a wave of change by displaying its award-winning Ocean range in their windows and stores.

The collection, which won the kitchen & dining category of the 2019 Gift of the Year awards (organised by the Giftware Association) is inspired by the love of the sea. It includes ceramic storageware with fish detailing, wireware baskets and trivets, cork tablemats and coasters. and shaped wooden boards. T&G Woodware donates to charity Plastic Oceans UK from the sale of these products.

Potters Cookshop at Hockley in Essex, Bacchanalia Cookshop at Redbrick Mill in the West Yorkshire town of Batley and W Hurst & Son at Newport on the Isle of Wight were praised by T&G Woodware for creating “some amazing displays which show support for Plastic Oceans UK and raise awareness of this important charity.”

T&G Woodware head of marketing Jenny Handley said: “With all the current media focus on plastic pollution in our seas, we hope this will engage everyone in a conversation to rethink plastic use and what we can all do to help.”
