IKEA expands its TaskRabbit service

IKEA is expanding its TaskRabbit home assembly service to six new areas.

Launching in Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Gateshead, Southampton and Exeter at the end of this month, TaskRabbit will be available in a total of 27 locations throughout the UK.

IKEA’s relationship with TaskRabbit aims to help customers with their needs in and around the home, from furniture assembly and wall mounting to minor home repairs.

Daniel Lundholm, country customer fulfilment manager of IKEA UK & Ireland, said: “We know that increasingly, people are living extremely busy lives, so we want to make things easier for them by offering affordable and convenient services like TaskRabbit. Expanding TaskRabbit means that more people across the UK can have their furniture built when they want, at high quality and at a low price, giving them more time to spend with their loved ones.”

Cornelia Raportaru, regional director for Europe of TaskRabbit, added: “After the success of launching TaskRabbit in eight IKEA stores in 2019, we’re delighted to be offering services to even more customers. We take pride in helping local communities by ensuring our ‘Taskers’ share their skills with people who need an extra pair of hands.”

TaskRabbit was acquired by Ingka Group, the owner of IKEA UK, in October 2017. With furniture assembly pricing starting from £6, and a minimum fee of £22, TaskRabbit promises ‘affordable options for people seeking help with tasks of all sizes’.

Taskers can be booked both in-store and with online purchases at http://www.IKEA.co.uk or at www.taskrabbit.co.uk/ikea. The service is offered in-store everywhere except Belfast, Dublin and Milton Keynes, but is offered online in the Milton Keynes area.
