IHA announces new UK contact

The International Housewares Association (IHA), which owns and operates the annual International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, has opened a new UK office.

Chester-based specialist housewares PR [public relations] agency PR Direct, operated by Sarah Selzer and Mark Chapman, is partnering with the IHA to serve as the new contact point for British and Irish companies interested in exhibiting at or visiting the show.

The office also serves as a market information resource for IHA members who want to expand their international sales in the UK and Ireland.

IHA vice president, international Mark Adkison said: “We’ve known Sarah and Mark for several years, through their visits to the show in Chicago and from working with them to introduce US homeware and housewares brands to the market in the UK, and we are very excited about their new role.

“They know the industry and the industry knows them. We trust that their extensive contacts – with both product suppliers and retail buyers – as well as their own experiences visiting the show, will help us attract new visitors and exhibitors.”

Sarah and Mark said: “We’re excited about our new role as the IHA UK office and are very much looking forward to working with both buyers and suppliers to help them with the show in Chicago – and also help them work with American suppliers.”

The pair will work with retailers and buyers throughout the UK and Ireland and will represent the interest of IHA members, providing market background information, introductions and local knowledge. They are also keen to help British and Irish suppliers to exhibit at the show.

The 2019 edition of the International Home + Housewares Show takes place at McCormick Place in Chicago from March 2 to March 5. To pre-register to attend, visit www.housewares.org
