IHA announces finalists in new US housewares awards

The 60 finalists in a new, annual housewares awards initiative organised in the US by the International Housewares Association have been revealed.

The winners in each of the 12 categories in the IHA Innovation Awards will be announced on the first day of the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, which runs from March 10 to 13.

Judged by a panel of industry experts and news media, all the finalists will be on display in the New Product Showcases located in the Buyers Club in each show building.

The finalists in the Cook & Bakeware category are: Bialetti’s Aeternum Evolution; Companion Group’s Pizzacraft Pizza Cone set; Kuhn Rikon’s PushPan; Quickshine’s Poachies egg poaching bags; and Welcome Home Brands’ oven-safe paper bakeware.

In Kitchen Electrics the finalists are: Bodum’s Bistro Pour Over Machine; Elettroplastica’s Bibo; Jura Capresso’s Impressa J9 One Touch TFT; Krups’ Barista EA9000 One-Touch cappuccino machine; and Swissmar’s Swivel raclette.

Finalists in the Kitchen Hand Tools & Cutlery category are: Buck Knives’ TravelMate kit; Jokari’s Baggy Rack Pro; Lifetime Brands’ Savora rotary grater; Rush3’s Kebo; and United Home Technologies’ Press Dome.

Finalists in Kitchenware are: BlenderBottle’s SportMixer; Browne USA’s Date Dial sealing lids; Evriholder Products’ Dressing-2-Go; Mastrad’s Thermo-sensor spoon; and Takeya USA’s Flash Chill tea maker.

Tabletop finalists are: 3 Green Moms’ LunchSkins (sandwich, snack and sub sizes); Harold Import Co’s Pedrini Easy Shaker; Lifetime Brands’ Flavor Dressing oil sprayer; and Prodyne Enterprises’ Cold Cover chiller lid.

In the Home Organization & Storage category the finalists are: Clean Cubes’ Clean Cubes; Full Circle’s Smart Rack dish rack; Racor’s Ladder Lift; Spiker’s Beach Holder; and Travelon’s Deluxe packable shelves.

The other categories are: Bath & Personal Care; Cleaning; Floor & Carpet Care; Home Décor & Gifts; Household Electrics & Home Environment; and Personal & Home Healthcare.

The International Home + Housewares Show is now sold out, hosting almost 2,100 exhibitors from 125 countries, including more than 500 new names.

“The sold-out status is continued evidence that the housewares and home goods segment is standing up well in the face of our current economic situation,” said IHA president Phil Brandl.
