ICTC takes on Terraillon to give independents ‘real choice’

Kitchen and bathroom scales company Terraillon is making a number of changes to its business, involving Hanson (UK) and the Terraillon brand.

ICTC takes on Terraillon to give independents ‘real choice’

Hanson (UK), which is part of the international Terraillon Group, has changed its name to Terraillon UK, but the Hanson brand will stay. Terraillon says its plans include more product investment.

Sold in over 80 countries and introduced to the UK late last year, the premium Terraillon brand has a far broader product range and is aimed at the more design-conscious department store and independent cookshop customer. From September, therefore, ICTC will be taking on retail distribution for the Terraillon brand.

Commenting on the move, Terraillon UK commercial director Nick Gadsby said: “With the investment that Terraillon Group is making in both brands, retailers in every sector will benefit from a wider choice of products that fit their customers’ lifestyles and pocket.

“We’re confident that the new distribution partnership with ICTC for Terraillon will give our independent stockists a much more responsive service.”

Meanwhile, Bruce Crane, managing director of ICTC described the Terraillon brand as being “a perfect fit for ICTC, and the move to distribute through us represents a significant opportunity for both of our companies”.

He said that Terraillon would give independent retailers for the first time a real choice when selecting which brand of quality scales to stock, and added that the range offered full margins at competitive prices.
