HT Perry & Son wins Home Hardware’s Xmas window dressing contest

HT Perry & Son at Wellington in Somerset is the winner of Home Hardware’s Christmas Window Dressing Competition.
First prize of £100 worth of vouchers was scooped by Fern Davis from HT Perry & Son and second prize of £50 worth of vouchers was presented to David Wagg from Austen’s Home Hardware at Petworth in West Sussex

All Home Hardware retailers were invited to participate in the competition and the overall standard of entry was exceptionally high. The competition was judged by an independent panel and two prizes for the best window displays were awarded. In deciding a winner, the judges took into account window content, products featured, layout, use of props, use of point of sale material, lighting and overall maintenance of displays.

Beverley Wood, marketing manager of Home Hardware, said: “The competition encourages retailers to make a special effort for the festive period. This helps add to the special ambience in the run-up to Christmas and makes members stores more attractive and welcoming. Over the last few weeks we have seen retailers raising the bar and working hard to make their window displays highly attractive to the consumer.”

Fern Davis said: “We’re thrilled to have won the competition and would like to thank our staff for their hard work. We hope our windows will attract more visitors to Wellington during the crucial Christmas trading period.”
