The specialist chain, which operates 68 stores nationwide, is celebrating its half-century this year. In recognition of the retailer’s milestone birthday, Robert Welch Designs has created a Signature cook’s knife, to Lakeland’s design specifications. Retailing at £24.99, the blade is made from German stainless steel, and combined with a Japanese-style edge, hand-honed to a 15 degree angle. “It is this fusion of styles that makes the Robert Welch Signature Range so special,” Lakeland said.

Meanwhile, Joseph Joseph has created the Ergo spatula which retails at £4.99 and comes in blue, green, purple and pink. “Knowing that we are passionate about utensils that can multi-task, our friends at Joseph Joseph have designed this curvy spatula especially for our 50th anniversary,” Lakeland said. “Rounded corners ensure that blending ingredients is as easy as can be, while the flat back lets you scrape every bit of mix from the bowl. It makes a super palette knife too and, being made of silicone, this ergonomic spatula is non-stick safe so it’s suitable for all bakeware.”

In addition, “a very special collection of moreish mint chocolates” has been created especially for Lakeland by Wilson’s Kendal Mint Cake factory. The 100g Lakeland 50th Anniversary Mint Selection retails at £2.99.
