Homing in on Home & Gift

The four-day Home & Gift Buyers’ Festival kicks off on Sunday (July 16) in North Yorkshire.

Organised by Clarion Events, the exhibition in the spa town of Harrogate– billed as ‘the perfect summer setting for Autumn and Winter buying – features more than 1,000 suppliers.

They will showcase their wares across four sectors: giftware, jewellery, home interiors and greetings.

A record 25% of the stands are being used by new companies, including Alessi, Grand Illusions, Pignut, Sunnylife, Ginger Ray, Nkuku, Giftisimo, Tif Tiffy Denmark and High Tide Jewellery.

Visitors can also attend The Great Northern Retail Forum to listen to presentations from eight industry experts. This initiative is held alongside the show in Hall H, upstairs in the HIC (Harrogate International Centre).

The keynote speaker is media personality, journalist, broadcaster (and ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ 2013 finalist) Janet Street-Porter CBE.

The celebrity will take to the stage on Monday July 17 at 11am to discuss why supporting ‘Made in Britain’ products – from food and craft to design – is important in a post-Brexit country.

Show director Cleere Scamell said: “This promises to be a fascinating, passionate and lively session and we’re thrilled that Janet is joining us. The Forum is a huge part of the show every year and we think it will be even more popular than usual thanks to Janet’s presence.”

The other speakers are Rachael Rowe, founding partner of homeware and giftware supplier Grace & Favour Home; Barney Edwards, commercial director of novelty gift e-tailer Prezzybox.com; Melanie Lissack, a double award-winning blogger whose site, Melanie Lissack Interiors, is dedicated to recreating on-trend home looks; Neil McLennan, lifestyle journalist for home interest magazine ‘Livingetc’; Jenny Spivey, retail & small business consultant; Warren Knight, social media strategist and author; Elena Fantuzzi, freelance stylist, visual merchandiser and window dresser and Dan Bartram, account manager of fashion accessories specialist VMC ACCESSORIES.
