Home Hardware celebrates long-standing employee

Following her 25-year anniversary with the business, Beverly Wood, marketing manager at Home Hardware Southwest Ltd, was presented with a long-service watch by Home Hardware chairman, David Adams.

Wood joined Home Hardware on January 5, 1998, and has since produced an astonishing 102,575,933 brochures, 10,097,934 leaflets, 3,939,493 Cookshop Catalogues, 201,650 Fireside Catalogues, 375,510 Outdoor Living Catalogues and 178,150 MOC Catalogues. Prior to going on maternity leave at the end of March 2010, she looked after corporate marketing members, as well as group marketing and promotions. Notably, for three consecutive years, Wood also organised ‘Project Rudolph’ at Malletts Home Hardware in Truro which has seen thousands of excited children meet Santa and real reindeer.

Beverly Wood said: “Promoting hardware retailers is in my DNA. My grandparents were hardware retailers in Sheffield in the 50’s and 60’s and my grandfather was president of the NFI (National Federation of Ironmongers). Sadly, my grandfather never got to enjoy his retirement (he retired in November 1969 and died one month later – days before Christmas and before I was born) and my nana died in the late 1980’s but I know they would be incredibly proud of my achievements promoting independent hardware retailers for 25 years.”
