Home & Gift Harrogate: ‘a huge success’

Home & Gift Harrogate proved to be ‘a huge success’ with both retailers and exhibitors, according to show organiser Clarion Events.

The event, which took place from July 19-22 in the  North Yorkshire spa town, was the launchpad for thousands of home and gift products for the key buying Autumn/Winter sales period and beyond.

Companies making their Home & Gift debut included Boyz Toy, Branche d’Olive, BrownTrout Publishers, Captain Fawcett, Chive Inc., David Fischhoff, Fairmont & Main, Gone Crabbing, Hallmark Cards, Jasmine Living, Lampe Berger, Meri Meri, Sabichi Homewares, Scaramouche & Fandango, Sophia & Matt and Thornback and Peel.

They showcased their wares to a wide array of buyers from independents to larger retailers such as Fenwick, Bentalls, Hamleys, Barkers, Next, Laura Ashley, Oliver Bonas, Fortnum & Mason and Graham & Green.

Over 800 companies exhibited in total at Home & Gift with many reporting ‘outstanding business’ being done across the four day show. Heather Robinson, UK sales team leader of Wild & Wolf, said: “Harrogate Home & Gift is a MUST exhibit event and great for launching new product lines It’s an all-round good show with a chance to re-ignite old contacts. Last day orders have increased year-on-year.”

Cleere Scamell, show director for Home & Gift, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted with the tremendous response that Home & Gift has received from the industry this year. As with any great product, it’s important for events to keep fresh and up-to-date, and this year we added plenty of new features to make sure retailers had an even more productive and enjoyable time.”

He added: “We’ve made some positive changes to the layout and we’re already planning ways to ensure our visitors get even more great ideas from every part of this uniquely enjoyable show. I look forward to revealing our exciting new plans shortly for the 56th edition.” Home & Gift 2016 will take place from July 17-20.
