Home Baker of the Year names its winners

Now in its sixth year, this year’s Home Baker of the Year contest attracted hundreds more entries than ever before, thanks to the growing interest in home baking.

Home Baker of the Year names its winners

The final has just been held at kitchen supplier Poggenpohl’s Manchester showrooms, with More Than Group providing all bakeware used on the day. All finalists also received a selection of the company’s Jane Asher bakeware. Asher was one of the event’s judges.

First prize went to Helen Roscoe for her Lancashire Belles, and she wins a £25,000 Poggenpohl kitchen. Second prize winner Jodie Arksey won a weekend at the Lakeside Hotel in Windermere, and a weekend cookery course at LucyCooks for her Ultimate Carrot Cake with Caramelised Carrots.

Three runners-up all win a day’s chocolate course at Slattery’s.
