Heston lays a Golden Egg for Waitrose

Michelin-starred chef Heston Blumenthal has created a ‘theatrical’ Easter egg for Waitrose.

The supermarket chain said: “When Heston decides to take on the Easter egg, expect the unexpected.”

The result is the Heston from Waitrose Golden Egg (£20). It has a dark chocolate shell that shimmers with edible gold dust. Hidden inside are six chocolate mini eggs, each with a fruity centre of mandarin ganache, nestled on a bed of edible vanilla flavoured paper straw.

Waitrose said: ‘This egg is pure theatre, from its luxury packaging, to the treats hidden inside the golden rich dark chocolate shell. Exquisite!’
