William Levene’s Culinaire One Touch can opener has been awarded gold in the prestigious International Design Excellence Award (IDEA).
The hands-free electronic opener was designed by Hong Kong-based design and development agency DAKA. The IDEA scheme attracts entries from around the globe.
The One Touch is set for a £1m national television advertising campaign this autumn, with the first phase running from October 1 and the second scheduled for early December. The ads will be aired on both terrestrial and satellite television, predominantly in the evening but with daytime slots as well.
William Levene says that following similar television advertising its Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker became the best-selling housewares gift line for two years running.
Marketing manager Grant Race reports: “UK sales of One Touch are already exceeding expectations, with listings increasing by the minute. Consumer demand for such an innovative and practical everyday kitchen tool is high.”
