Habitat relaunches London flagship store with ‘random acts’

Habitat has fully reopened its flagship branch on Tottenham Court Road in London.

The housewares chain has refurbished the 25,000sq ft store with a fresh layout and design that strips the building back to its original architectural framework.

Features include a new main entrance, redesigned central staircase, bespoke fixturing and a monochrome scheme with black wood floors.

The design also incorporates new dedicated departments including a cookshop and fitted kitchen studio, as well as new gallery space and an expansive textiles wall. The first phase of the multi-million pound venture was unveiled in October 2015.

To celebrate the full reopening, the retailer held a ‘Random Acts of Habitat’ initiative from March 29 to April 2, handing out ‘daily delights and tempting treats’.

These included a free Habitat shopper bag, a free Crosstown doughnut at lunchtime, an invitation to the evening launch party, a free breakfast and a free prize draw to win a £1,000 shopping spree at the store.

The official launch party was held on the evening of March 31. Highlights included a DJ spinning the tunes, cocktails mixed by Our/London, and a mid-season sale with up to 30% off selected lines and a Lucky Dip with every purchase.
