Grunwerg said the new premises at Silversteel Manor feature ‘state-of-the art facilities, including a brand new showroom’ and offers the business ‘more scope for expansion with room for growth, ample space and improved staff facilities with recreational areas’.
The company, primarily known for its Global knives brand and association with famous chefs including the Roux family, began life 74 years ago in 1945 and has grown to become a leading supplier of kitchen knives and utensils, cutlery, teaware, serving ware, tableware, cookware and barware.
Managing director David Grunwerg commented: “This is an exciting move for our company, coinciding with the transfer of our business to the fourth generation of our family through the capable hands of Ben Grunwerg.
“We are vacating our comfortable and convenient city centre site for this beautiful new location in the suburbs of Sheffield and Chesterfield, where we hope that our staff will enjoy the pleasant surroundings – and that the business will continue to prosper into the future”.
Director Ben Grunwerg added: “The diversity of our product range and strengths of our brands – Global, Rockingham Forge, Pioneer vacuum flasks, DrinkPod, Café Stal, Vektra, Windsor and Commichef to name a few – are real assets in the current business climate, and our new office base will help us provide even higher levels of service excellence for our customers, as well as room for expansion and development of our UK and Export markets. This complements our successful London showroom based in the Business Design Centre in Islington.”
The office move was prompted by the sale of Silversteel House to student housing developer Watkins Jones. Grunwerg is scheduled to complete its relocation by the end of this summer.
The new address is: to Silversteel Manor, Carrwood Road, Carrwood Industrial Estate, Sheepbridge, Chesterfield, Derbyshire S41 9QB. Office contact details remain unchanged.
