Great British Bake Off winner to visit Abraxas Cookshop

To celebrate Abraxas Cookshop’s 20 year anniversary, the retailer has invited ‘The Great British Bake Off’ 2013 winner Frances Quinn to judge a public baking competition at its flagship store.

The competition is free to enter and open to everyone. Entrants are invited to bring along their cake (one per entry) to Abraxas Cookshop’s branch in Heart of The Shires Shopping Village, near Weedon in Northamptonhire, next Saturday (July 2) between 10am and midday.

Judging will take place between 1pm and 2pm, followed by a cake decorating demonstration and book signing by Frances. The cake can be any size or type with any theme. There are two categories: under 18 and over 18. The winner of the over 18 category will receive a £100 Abraxas gift voucher. The winner of the under 18 category will receive a £25 gift voucher.

Entrants can pre-book their place in advance by emailing gail@heartoftheshires.co.uk giving their full name, contact details and age category.

Abraxas is an award-winning housewares business founded by sisters Helen Sparrow & Sarah George. The original Abraxas Cookshop opened in 1996 at Heart of The Shires Shopping Village. In 2004, Abraxas opened another two branches, 12 miles away on the same street at Rugby in Warwickshire: Abraxas Cookshop and Abraxas China & Glass. A year later it launched an outlet at Banbury in Oxfordshire. This was followed by a fifth branch, at Northampton in Northamptonshire, in 2006.
