San Francisco’s Gourmet Housewares Show is to relocate to New York and change its annual timing.

Gourmet Housewares Show moves to New York

The next show had been planned to take place in the west coast city in August 2010. That event has now been cancelled and it will instead be staged at New York’s Jacob K Javits Convention Center from January 30 to February 3 2011, and form part of the New York International Gift Fair.

GLM, which organises both events, says that the co-location is expected to bring some 150 new gourmet housewares and food exhibitors to the gift fair, complementing its existing tabletop and housewares sector.

The move follows a recent joint survey and follow-up discussions by GLM and the International Housewares Association to assess industry demand for a second US gourmet housewares-related show, and when and where it would be preferred.

However, a statement said that the two organisations “concluded their recently announced discussions concerning US-based trade events without being able to reach an agreement to work together”.
