Gourmet Housewares Show cuts to four days

New York’s Gourmet Housewares Show has cut its six-day format to four days as of this year.
It will now run from Sunday August 19 to Wednesday August 22. At the same time, the New York International Gift Fair with which it is co-located will run for five days instead of six, from August 18 to 22. Both shows take place at New York City’s Jacob K Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 & 94.

Organiser GLM said the moves had been made following an exhibitor survey and because of a shift in traffic patterns.

“An overwhelming majority of exhibitors surveyed are in favour of reducing the length of the fair by one day,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “Based on daily traffic and attendance patterns over the past few shows, we anticipate that attendance will not be affected negatively by this change.”
