Chefs Gordon Ramsay and Nigella Lawson have been voted the dishes of the day in a poll to find the celebrities people would most like to have cook for them on Valentine’s Day.
Half of the women surveyed by kitchen manufacturer and retailer Sigma 3 said Ramsay would be their ideal chef for tomorrow’s big night, while three-quarters of men wanted Lawson to don her apron in their kitchen.
However, the focus switched from television celebs to Hollywood idols when those polled were asked who they would most like to cook for on the most romantic night of the year.
Sweeney Todd star Johnny Depp polled 28% of the vote, just ahead of David Beckham, and Sean Connery topped the menu for women over 40 with a 31% score. Almost a third of men decided that Angelina Jolie would look good sitting at their dining tables, beating Helen Mirren into second place.
Predictably, though, the likely reality of tomorrow night’s dining duos was considerably less appealing. Only 7% of women said they would most like to cook for their partners, and just 3% of men were turned on by the idea.
