Hundreds of letters and flyers that have been sent out from I.Grunwerg’s head office to restaurants across the country, inviting their chefs to fill in a form for their opportunity to win a special edition nine-piece 30th Anniversary chef’s set. Worth over £1,000, it contains key knives such as the G-22 cook’s knife and G-21 boning knife. The closing date is December 20 and the winner will be announced in January.

This, and many other campaigns, have been organised for 2015 – which will see the Japanese knife brand celebrate its 30th anniversary. I.Grunwerg, the official UK distributor for Global Knives, has released several new products to celebrate this milestone.

Sophie Newton, brand manager of Global Knives UK, said: “We want to celebrate the relationship that exists between top chefs and the knives they use, as they need equipment that is reliable and works extremely well. We have been voted Chef’s Choice at the Restaurant Awards for five years in a row, which is a massive achievement that we’re incredibly proud of. So we wanted to reach out to chefs and do this competition as a way of saying thank you.”
