More than 400 shoppers gathered at the electrical retailer in Somerset for interactive cookery demonstrations by Gino D’Acampo and cookery duo The Main Ingredient.

VIP tickets for the event sold out, with generous donations reaching up to £50 for a front row seat to watch Gino cook a pesto spaghetti dish. Ticket holders also received a signed copy of Gino’s latest cookery book ‘Pronto! How to cook Italian in 20 minutes’.

A raffle and grand prize draw took place at the event, with Zanussi prizes including an oven, hob and hood set. Sparkworld also offered 20% off all Zanussi appliances in an offer that will run until Monday 5th May 5.

Adding a charitable twist to the event, Sparkworld raised more than £2,500 from ticket sales for St. Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset.

Sparkworld director Tristan Cook said: “It was great that everyone worked in partnership to make this a successful day. We are delighted to have raised £2,500 for charity and want to thank everyone who made a donation. We’d also like to say a big thanks to Zanussi and Gino for popping in and we are looking forward to some post-event sales this week as shoppers continue to take advantage of this great discount.”
