Chocolate Week returns to the UK for the 12th consecutive year today (Monday October 10) to Sunday (October 16).
The UK’s biggest chocolate celebration culminates with The Chocolate Show London, held at Olympia National Hall from October 14 to October 16, which is billed as the capital’s only chocolate exhibition.
Some 20,000 chocolate fans are expected to attend the fourth edition of the show, to see UK chocolate companies exhibiting alongside international brands
Other features include live celebrity chef demonstrations, talks, hands-on workshops, tastings, masterclasses, a children’s area and a daily chocolate fashion show.
Hundreds of themed events are due to take place this week around the UK at chocolatiers and chocolate companies, as well as hotels, bars and restaurants. They will be hosting talks, tastings, demonstrations and sampling, as well as creating exclusive products, new launches, offers, chocolate meals, cocktails and recipes.
Chocolate Week aims to promote fine flavour chocolate from independent artisan chocolatiers and chocolate companies who work in direct partnership with cocoa farmers, encouraging consumers to pay a fairer price for their chocolate. It is run by Sylvie Douce and François Jeantet, founders of the Salon du Chocolat, which has organised 193 shows in 32 cities around the world.
