Full-year sales rise at Fenwick

Fenwick increased sales in its last financial year, the department store group’s latest results show.
In the year to January 30 2009, the retailer’s net sales, including concessions, grew to £363.4m, compared with £350.3m in the previous year.

However, pre-tax profits fell to £35.6m from £41.8m in 2008.

The company says it believes the trading environment will remain competitive but that it remains “confident in the future of the group”.

Fenwick has eight stores nationwide, along with Bentalls in Kingston on Thames and Bracknell and Williams & Griffin in Colchester.
