Two cookbook authors – Mary Berry and Jamie Oliver – appear twice in the ‘The Mail on Sunday’s’ weekly list of the 10 best-selling non-fiction hardbacks.
The new edition of Mary’s ‘Cook Now, Eat Later’ book, which came out on July 3 from Headline Book Publishing, has gone straight into the chart at number four. The book is aimed at the keen, busy cook who does not want to spend hours in the kitchen before having friends in for a kitchen supper.
In third place is ‘The Art of Eating Well’ by sisters Jasmine Hemsley and Melissa Hemsley. Described as ‘a revolutionary cookbook that will help anyone who wishes to feel better, lose weight or have more energy’, it includes over 150 recipes – all of which are free from grain, gluten, refined sugar, high starch and are alkaline friendly.
At number five is TV chef Jamie Oliver’s ‘Save With Jamie’ which features ‘favourite tips and tricks to help you shop smart, cook clever and waste less’. Mary is back again, in sixth place, with ‘Mary Berry Cooks’: a tie-in to her recent BBC2 series of the same name, which focuses on home cooking. It features a collection of 100 recipes, including Mary’s menus for each episode of the show. And Jamie reappears at number 10 with ‘Jamie’s 15-Minute Meals’.
The bestsellers list is compiled by Nielsen Bookscan TCM, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 retailers representing over 90% of the UK book market. It appeared in the July 13 issue of ‘The Mail on Sunday’s’ ‘Event’ Magazine.
