Fiskars’ Functional Form range hits Selfridges shelves

Fiskars new contemporary knife and kitchenware range, Functional Form, has been stocked by Selfridges.

The range of knives, knife blocks and utensils have their own display area in the department store group‘s flagship Oxford Street store in London.

This entry into the knife market means that Fiskars has gone full circle; the Finnish company formed in 1649 as an iron foundry making nails, knives and hoes.

The philosophy behind Functional Form has been to design products that ‘not only look stylish but work; they are not only easy to use but easy to clean, store and maintain’. Functional Form has been developed for everyday use with special emphasis on ergonomics, functionality and safety. The range includes large, small and specialist knives and knife blocks as well as a wide range of utensils including graters, spatulas, chopping boards and pans.

Fiskars trade marketing director Kerry Murfin said: “We’re delighted that Selfridges can see the appeal that Functional Form has for their customers. The range offers outstanding quality and style and is also great value for money. We’re sure that once they hit the shelves, they will soon become the popular of choice for many people.”

Headquartered in Helsinki, Fiskars is Finland’s oldest company celebrating its 365th anniversary in 2014. It is a global supplier of branded consumer products for the home, garden and outdoors. Its portfolio of brands include Fiskars, Iittala and Gerber.
