With new product launches in the pipeline, guest international buyers confirmed and speakers in place, the team behind the Exclusively Housewares exhibition is busying preparing for the summer show.

Exclusively Housewares gears up for June

The 2014 Exclusively Housewares show will run at the Business Design Centre in London on Tuesday June 10 and Wednesday June 11. Show director Simon Boyd of organiser Brooke House Exhibitions said: “There are some great anniversaries, celebrity link-ups, and new products being brought to the show this year. It’s great to be a part of an energetic, buzzy industry like this, and our exhibitors will be putting on a great show!”

Exhibitors with anniversaries include Bamix, which is commemorating 60 years of manufacturing its Classic hand mixer with new colours on offer; Bodum, which is marking its 70 years in business by reintroducing ranges in anniversary colours (at original prices); The DRH Collection which is marking 10 years in business with a raft of new products and Rosti Mepal, which is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its Margrethe mixing bowl by offering it in three retro colours.

On the celebrity front, Europasonic has teamed up with the Hairy Bikers and will be showing kitchenware developed with the hirsute pair Si King and Dave Myers; Meyer is working with Buddy Valestro from TV’s The Cake Boss; T&G is exhibiting Sophie Conran chopping boards; Elite are featuring a range which uses images from 1950s illustrator John Hanna, famous for his series of covers for ‘Country Fair’ magazine; Royal Doulton is showing a collection based on designs from Charlene Mullen, a London-based designer known for her ‘blackwork’ and ‘scenic’ embroidered textiles; and Whitbread Wilkinson has a range based on archive graphics of eight characters from Disney’s ‘It’s A Small World’.

Other product launches are promised from Brabantia, Creative Tops, Dualit, Eddingtons, EveryWare Global, GEH, Gilberts, Green Pioneer, Hahn, Mason Cash, Scotts Brothers, Tradestock, Typhoon, WMF and Zodiac, among others.

The show’s now regular party of guest international retailers is also in place, with buyers attending from Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden. Simon commented: “We will be welcoming 30-35 key retailers to the show, who have either been identified by exhibitors or our own research team as great potential export partners. They come accompanied by their own country’s trade press, so they get profile at home, and at the show – it’s working very well in terms of the contacts made for our exhibitors.”

He added: “Over time, the show has developed and grown, taking on new products as cookshops, department stores, garden centres and retailers across the spectrum have shifted their product offers. Small electricals have definitely seen the biggest growth in the housewares market in the recent past, and we’re looking forward to seeing that emerge in its own show next year. But for this year, we have an excellent line up across the board, all with great ideas and products to sell. So now is the time to make sure you’re on our invitation list so that you receive the show’s preview, which goes out a month before the show.”
