Brown has worked in retail all his life, within major retailers including Marks & Spencer, Pret a Manger and Benetton, and has also been responsible for over a dozen retail start-ups.

Most recently, he created the award-winning multi-channel cookshop, Armorica, in Petersfield, Hampshire. He has now sold the shop and its three associated websites to Martin Wildsmith.

In his new venture, www.brightperspectives.co.uk, Brown advises on a range of retail development issues, from marketing and optimising e-commerce activities through to improving business systems, merchandising and operations.

In the cookshop sector, he has already helped set up a new business, www.baytreecookware.co.uk

“When running my own retail businesses, I found it difficult to get really helpful advice on how best to grow and develop,” he told HousewaresLive.net. “I wanted to speak to someone who would really understand about my retail business: someone who was a successful retailer themselves.

“I could never find anyone who filled the bill, so I believe that with my work at Bright Perspectives I’m fulfilling a genuine need for small retail owners who are serious about taking their businesses forward.”
