‘End of an era’ for The Cook Shop in Leamington Spa

The Cook Shop in Leamington Spa will shut its doors for the final time this Sunday (November 3) at 4pm, after 40 years of trading in the Warwickshire town.

The store, at 112 Regent Street, is currently holding a closing down final clearance sale with 70% off everything.

The news of the closure was first announced in a blog posted on the retailer’s website on August 28. Headlined ‘It’s the end of an era!’ the blog said: ‘After 40 incredible years in business, the Cookshop is closing its doors for the last time this Autumn due to the retirement of our owner.

‘We’d like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our wonderful customers. We started our first kitchen supplies business back in the early eighties, and have loved every minute of being in business since then.

‘Our owner Toni McLellan says: “I’m very sad to be closing, but the time is right to do so and I’m looking forward to retirement. Myself and my dedicated team have always enjoyed meeting and helping people. I’m happy to say that many of our regulars have now become friends. I will miss coming to work in Leamington, it’s a beautiful town with a vibrant community, but I am excited about new adventures.”

‘Once again a huge thank you to our fabulous staff, and the fantastic customers we have had the pleasure of meeting and serving for the past 40 years.’

Toni has been running The Cook Shop since 1995.
