The mug will be available from September 2, priced at £19.95 at Emma Bridgewater shops and emmabridgewater.co.uk. For every one sold, Emma Bridgewater will donate £5 to the Action Oak campaign.
Officially launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2018, Action Oak is seeking to raise £15 million for research and monitoring to help safeguard the 121 million oaks in UK woodlands.
Woodland Heritage is a founding member of the initiative, which also includes the Woodland Trust, National Trust, the Duchy of Cornwall, Forest Research, Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, the Forestry Commission, the Northern Ireland Forest Service, Defra and the Scottish and Welsh Governments.
Emma Bridgewater said: “We’re proud to produce a special mug for Action Oak. The design features the majestic oak leaf in a sponge patter, and each piece has been decorated by hand in our factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
“Oak trees are an iconic part of the British landscape, and it is vital that we protect them for future generations. They face a fight for survival against pests and disease that devastate the oak population. Action Oak is raising vital funds to help inform the management of our oak tree population.”
