Edinburgh store is in the pink for breast cancer

Edinburgh store Houseproud of Morningside is showing its support for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month by presenting window displays of housewares in the Breast Cancer Campaign charity’s colour, pink.

“The displays have been months in the planning,” proprietor Anne Williamson told HousewaresLive.net, “and Breast Cancer Campaign have provided us with posters, balloons, banners and collection cans for donations. Customers have also been supporting us by baking pink cakes to help with fundraising.”

The store has a personal reason for backing the charity, as its manageress, Donna Davidson, lost her mother to breast cancer in 1999. The disease affects one in nine women in the UK at some point in her life and can also be contracted by men.
