Two Eddingtons kitchen trolleys had a brush with fame recently when they took a starring role in a promotional photo shoot featuring a host of celebrity chefs.

The Lambourn two-drawer trolleys are pictured with the judges of the 2012 Roux Scholarship competition, described as the the premier competition for young chefs in the UK. Entrants compete to win a three-month internship in a 3 Michelin-starred restaurant of their choice, anywhere in the world, followed by life-long mentorship from the Roux family.

The judges of this prestigious competition included all four members of the Roux family, as well as Brian Turner, James Martin, Gary Rhodes, David Nicholls and Andrew Fairlie.

The 2012 Roux Scholarship winner is 24-year-old Adam Smith, premier sous chef at The Ritz Hotel. He beat five other finalists who all prepared Turbotin Jubilee at the cook-off held at Westminster Kingsway on April 2.

This year’s event was filmed by Cactus TV for a one off special documentary called The Roux Scholarship, which was shown on the Good Food Channel on Sunday July 15 at 8pm.
