Housewares distributor Eddingtons has acquired selected assets including stock and IP from housewares supplier Epicurean Europe.
Epicurean Europe has developed a portfolio of product categories including barware, childrensware, kitchenware and drinkware ranges which are sold across many trade channels in the UK.
Epicurean Europe’s founder John Fox is retiring after more than 50 years in the housewares industry. He founded Epicurean 22 years ago and, Eddingtons said, ‘wanted to find a like-minded company to take over the reins’.
John Fox explained: “Saying farewell to so many friends is difficult but I have treasured memories to reflect upon and I’m pleased to place my trust in Eddingtons to take the business forward.”
Eddingtons managing director Roger Murphy added: “We’re delighted John has put his faith in Eddingtons, and we’re extremely excited by the opportunities we see for further growth with this well established brand in all channels. Eddingtons is proud of its track record of developing innovative products and managing major brands in the UK and the Epicurean brand will fit perfectly alongside our existing business.”
