Under the new owners, the retail outlet is set to become a delicatessen which will include some cookware in its offering.

Trevor Draper – who is the current chairman of the CHA [Cookshop & Housewares Association] said: “We wish the new owners every success. We have enjoyed our 12 wonderful years in the housewares industry and look forward to keeping in touch with the many friends we have made. My intention is to continue to chair the CHA committee until the end of my term, working to promote the interests of our sector.”

He will also continue to develop his ScannedByMe app, which provides retailers and suppliers with an opportunity to sell product collections and promote discount codes and loyalty schemes from just one code (www.scannedbyme.com).

Last year, the Drapers sold their second shop in Billericay: The Emporium, which was established in 2006 and offered a range of giftware and homeware.
